Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

How often do you update boards not updated automatically?
Well, we don't. That is to say, we don't have a timetable. We may update them from time to time but we have no policy on updating them a set intervals.

Why does a graph say insufficient data?
To draw a graph we need a certain amount of data, for example, for a weekly graph we have to have stats from the past 7 days. If any of these are missing the graph will simply say insufficient data.

This may be down to a one-off event that has caused the loss of one day of data in each case the problem will be solved when the missing data is more than 7 days old. However it is more likely to be caused by a board we cannot crawl and therefore the data is not gathered automatically each day.

What does the x% authoritative mean?
Authoritativeness refers to how authoritative the board is on a particular topic, hence the name Authority Forums. It is based on posts. For instance if all the boards combined on one topic have 20,000 posts and the biggest one has 10,000 of those it would be 50% authoritative has it has half the posts and therefore contains half the knowledge out there on the subject.
